This club was 'officially' re-formed as
RNKC
under new management October 10th, 1999
We are located in Reno, NV and Generally Fly at Rancho
San Rafael (map)
Specific events are scheduled throughout the year,
however dedicated kite flyers can be found flying at 'Rancho' almost every day.
We have a standing Club fly, Sunday afternoons (if events
don't take us out of town)
The second Sunday of the month, we normally have a pot-luck BBQ.
Club membership isn't required, but is strongly
recommended.
$10 per Person, or $15 per family.
The RNKC Logo 'concept' was developed by Steve Hoffman.
The current club logo was designed by Cesar Lopez.
The Club was initially formed by Tom Stille who ran the
club almost single handed for several years.
The club faltered and almost fell apart when he decided to move-on in 1999.
Existing club members discussed that we would reorganize under a new club name.
Bylaws were discussed, but a written constitution were never written and voted in.
Membership dues are due on April 1st for the year.
Club officers serve for one year, and elections will be held annually.
Only club members can vote on issues, however non-members can freely offer
suggestions to be discussed.
Meetings are held, and called when necessary or desired.
A kite email 'list' is maintained by Phil Kalenowsky.
There is no membership, or obligation to be on this 'free' list which is
distributed via email (only).
Our main kite-flying event has been the Fathers Day fly
at Stead.
Other events have come and gone, and we are always looking for
new and existing events
which will help us spread the fun of flying kites.
