Prize distribution, and Rules Addendum
(created
11/25/03 and distributed
via email)
Here's the scoop
on the Prizes and Rules, lots of details.
This document
be posted at the event, and will find itself on the website as well.
Winners will be posted
on the website, and pictures can be found there after the event also.
Each first prize winner (of the Nine competitive events) wins a $20 gift certificate, from the designated sponsor.
High Sierra Hobbies is donating three $20 gift certificates to the slow-flier events.
Kites Plus will also be donating three $20 gift certificates toward the purchase of kites/planes/ or computer work for the brushed events Plus a grand-prize door-prize to one of the overall winners. (numbers will be drawn, and the winning number will receive a 'surprise door-prize'... (at the end of the day/event)
TMTT flying batteries will donate three $20 gift certificates toward the purchase of batteries for the brushless events.
Specialized Services will be donating funds for field equipment plus three $20 BILLS! (cold cash) to flyers that did not take first place. Raffle-type drawing at the end of the day (2pm). Pilots must be present to enter raffle and win $.
Note: if Thang or I win an event that we are giving prizes to, we will give the prize to the second place winner.
Prizes will be handed out at the end of that flight 'type'.. After all slow events, prizes will be awarded, after brushed competition, all brushed prizes will be handed out, etc. The grand prize will be handed out at the end of the day, after all events are finished and prizes are drawn. All winners must be present to participate in the final door prize winning.
Pictures will be taken of the flyers before the event starts, and possibly after, depending on the carnage!
Rules: No landing gear allowed for slow flying events. when your plane touches the ground, and cannot fly (without assistance) again, it is finished for that competition.
We will be running one-heat competitions.
In case of a frequency conflict, the first person signed up for an event gets to fly that event, unless something can be worked out between the pilots.
If there is no contact during combat, the last plane in the air wins. Note: flying high, away from the 'heat' can be grounds for disqualification. All combating planes must 'engage' in combat.
Note: the winged combat will intentionally be full-contact combat. The slow-flyers need to bring their own colored crate paper. The slow-flyers will determine the details, ie length of tail, winner etc. These rules will be defined, and discussed at the pilot meeting at 9am.
All rules and details will be discussed and defined at the pilot's meeting (at 9am), ie 2 or 3 poles for pylon racing, the number of laps, etc.
Wing's don't 'normally' have landing gear, so the landing gear will not have to be removed.
Note: Combat means plane to plane, no taking out another pilot, so that he can't fly his plane!
Start and stop of events will occur via the loud speaker system. Please pay attention to the announcements for quick start and stopping of events.
Since events will run back to back, it is best to have charged batteries in-hand ie, on the person versus running back and forth to the vehicles. The event may start without you, if you aren't ready. (I plan to announce the start and stop of events) so I will be given a few 'second' grace period. Note: All events, times etc will be judged based on 'my' watch...
As stated previously, Each pilot is responsible for his or her own aircraft and following the outlined safety rules, including no flying over the parking lot. One warning will be given. At second occurrence of a safety violation, the pilot will not be allowed to fly during the event, or until the end of the event, after field breakdown.
Note: If a wind develops from the east, landing approaches may be required to be flown over the parking lot, where there are NO cars or people. This situation will only be allowed if it is announced as being allowed.
These 'rules' and policies may be amended between now and the end of the event on Nov 29th.
