Sundae's in the Park Pics Taken today. (thanks JJ!) Event Summary: Today July 14th, 2002 was both a club BBQ, and a Rancho Park event, 2nd annual, Sundae's in the park. We talk about wind, kites, how they fly, see different kites, safety, and get some hands on kite flying. Everyone got finger kites (of course!) Today was SUPER! we had WIND!!! JJ showed how a 4 line can hover vertically, and lots of kids of 'all' ages got a chance to fly the beetle. After the Rancho raffle for a bear poster, (and everyone ate sundae's) Rick and Rosemary brought their rose kite, and we had a candy drop too! Some kids and adults stayed around and flew more, other left, came back and flew some more. We had lots of kite club members, and even a few visitors! JJ tended the coals while Brenda supervised. Dick flew both zagi and kites today. Pepsi Mike, Cameron, Marlysis, and her daughter with baby were there, Steve Hoffman brought his new prism dual line Prophesy and a few friends who learned to fly quad today. Rick, Rosemary and Damien were there today. Marina joined us today, and spent the day too. Ron Marston stopped by and flew his electric powered glider, which was very cool too! Mike and family renewed the club membership today too! COOL! We don't have the new (being made) club banner yet, but it is almost paid for! We had a nice banner display, JJ's RNKC, Dick had his eagle (and rwb rocket spinner) up, and I had my recently revamped KitesPlus banner, and my two standard 16 footers. I slipped BIG-time and only took one picture after everything was said and done! Of Alisha flying my mylar Rev and the 26 foot shark, which was up most of the afternoon. We had some extra kids stop by to learn to fly later in the afternoon. I gave the $$ to Brenda, for our Missouri members, who have renewed their membership for NEXT year already! Walt and Chuck from Missouri, THANKS! (our first members for next year!)
Please notify Phil of anything left out, that should be added, miss-spellings etc. thanks! Phil :)
